Cotomono : 今村素子 (Motoco Imamura) 1974年福岡県生まれ。幼少期から布とカタチに興味があり、20代前半から独学でデザインを学ぶ。自分の名前、素子（motoco）を逆さまにもじり、Cotomonoという名で2003年からモノづくりをスタート。日本語でcoto（コト）は「言葉」や「ひとつ」、mono（モノ）は「全体・すべて」という意味があります。2008年から本格的に展示会をスタートし、街角の小さなカフェからデパートの催事、また海外のアートギャラリーまで様々な場所で展示会の旅を続けています。主に、まるさんかくしかくを基本ベースにオリジナルテキスタイルを使って袋状のカタチを作っていますが、そのカタチとひとりひとりが持つ、唯一無二のカタチである「身体」との関係性をいつもイメージしながら制作しています。2021年5月より神戸市在住。

Cotomono : Motoco Imamura, born 1974 in Fukuoka Japan. I've been interested in fabric and shape since childhood, and I learned design by self education from the early 20s. Cotomono is based on an anagram of Motoco. Japanese noun, “Coto”, means “word” or “one” amongst others, and “Mono”, “all”or "whole". Started making pieces with fabrics under the name Cotomono around 2003. The enterprise turned professional from 2008. Travels to shows in various venues: cafes, special fairs in department stores, art galleries abroad as well as all around Japan.I mainly make bag-shaped forms using original textiles based on circles, triangles, and squares, but I always keep in mind the relationship between these forms and the unique body that each person has. I'm making it while imagining it. Based in Kobe since May 2021.
